King James Version Only For Proof of Doctrine

King James Bible Scriptures Used by Catholic and Jewish Translators and Editors for Their Own Bibles

The revised Catholic Douay/Rheims bible © 1914 used the Protestant King James Authorized Version Scriptures as its base text for this Catholic Bible and, for the most part, edited the KJV scriptures that contradicted errant Roman Catholicism's manmade errant doctrines, but a few slipped by their editors as exampled below in 1Corinthians 10:4 confirming that Jesus Christ, not Peter, was/is the Rock upon which the Church of Jesus Christ was to be built.

The following is historical fact from Wikipedia At https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douay%E2%80%93Rheims_Bible

Catholic Bishop Richard Challoner’s 1749 revision of the Catholic Douay Rheims Bible used the Protestant King James Version for its base text, editing those KJV scriptures that conflicted with its manmade doctrines. Much of the text of the 1582/1610 bible employed a densely Latinate vocabulary, making it extremely difficult to read the text in places. Consequently, this translation was replaced by a revision undertaken by Bishop Richard Challoner; the New Testament in three editions of 1749, 1750, and 1752; the Old Testament (minus the Vulgate deuterocanonical), in 1750. Although retaining the title Douay–Rheims Bible, the Challoner revision was a new version, tending to take as its base text the King James Bible rigorously checked and extensively adjusted for improved readability and consistency with the Clementine edition of the Vulgate. Subsequent editions of the Challoner revision, of which there have been very many, reproduce his Old Testament of 1750 with very few changes. Challoner's New Testament was, however, extensively revised by Bernard MacMahon in a series of Dublin editions from 1783 to 1810. These Dublin versions are the source of some Challoner bibles printed in the United States in the 19th century. Subsequent editions of the Challoner Bible printed in England most often follow Challoner's earlier New Testament texts of 1749 and 1750, as do most 20th-century printings and on-line versions of the Douay–Rheims bible circulating on the internet.

Catholic Douay/Rheims Bible= (RHE) at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douay%E2%80%93Rheims_Bible

"And all drank the same spiritual drink: (And they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them: and that rock was Christ.) "1

 King James VersionKJV

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Douay/ Rheims Version (RHE)

18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matt 16:18 (RHE

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build mychurch; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it Matt 16:18

When Jesus said that to Peter. Jesus was pointing to himself. Jesus, the Son of God was/is the Rock, not Peter as quoted in the above Catholic (RHE) and Protestant (KJV) bibles. __________________________________________________________________

The Jewish Publication Society (JPS) used the King James Authorized Version for its scriptures The revised JPS Holy Bible © 1917 used the Protestant King James Authorized Version Scriptures as its base text for this Jewish Holy Bible and, for the most part, edited the KJV scriptures that contradicted the Jewish manmade traditions, especially the Messianic prophecies foretelling Jesus Christ as the Messiah but a few Messianic prophecies slipped by their editors as exampled below in as their following statement athttp://www.mechon-mamre.org/e/et/jps1917.htm

“We are, it is hardly needful to say, deeply grateful for the works of our non-Jewish predecessors, such as the Authorised (King James) Version with its admirable diction, which can never be surpassed, as well as for the Revised Version with its ample learning--but they are not ours. The Editors have not only used these famous English versions, but they have gone back to the earlier translations of Wycliffe, Tyndale, Coverdale, the Bishops' Bible, and the Douai Version, which is the authorized English translation of the Vulgate used by the Roman Catholics; in a word, upon doubtful points in style, all English versions have been drawn upon. The renditions of parts of the Hebrew Scriptures by Lowth and others in the eighteenth century and by Cheyne and Driver in our own days were likewise consulted.

One of the Scriptures positively identifying Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) as the future Messiah and Savior of the World that the Jewish editors and translators did not edit in their traditional beliefs because it was sealed in their own lives as follow:

King James Version KJV

Proverbs 30:1-6 (KJV)

“The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Jewish Publication Society JPS

Proverbs 30:1-6 (JPS) “The words of Agur the son of Jakeh; the burden. The man saith unto Ithiel, unto Ithiel and Ucal: Surely I am brutish, unlike a man, and have not the understanding of a man; and I have not learned wisdom, that I should have the knowledge of the Holy One. Who hath ascended up into heaven, and descended? {N}Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in his, garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? {N} what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest? Every word of God is tried; He is a shield unto them that take refuge in Him. Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. {P}.

Conclusion

As documented and certified herein, the King James Bible (KJV) scriptures were used by the Catholic editors and translators (Bishop Richard Challoner) as the base text for their © 1914 Catholic Douay/Rheims Bible just as the Jewish editors and translators at the Jewish Publication Society used the King James Bible Scriptures as the basis for their © 1917 Holy Bible which only confirms what many bible scholars have concluded, including this writer servant upon the basis of intensive trial and error research, that the King James Bible, coupled with its Hebrew and Greek meanings, (Strong’s Concordance) is without error, contains all of the jots and tittles that Jesus Christ spoke about and is the only Bible to be used for proof of doctrine
